WHAT'S ON IN BRIEF
BESPOKE RULING - RIGHT DECISION, WRONG REASON
Tailors were understandably upset at the Advertising Standards ruling on the use of the term 'bespoke' this summer - but they need to establish their own set of rules to define a real bespoke tailor.
Meantime, we show what bespoke does mean in terms of originality as well as colour and quality that the imitators can't match - as in this cycle suit for Gary Fisher by Russell Howarth in Dashing Tweeds cloth.

TOWN AND COUNTRY FOR GUNSMITHS
Evidence that bespoke tailoring is alive and well is shown in newcomers joining the ranks - and this season it is a famous old country firm more noted for its guns and shooting paraphanalia than urban chic.
