In one of its regular bouts of musical chairs, Savile Row is having a reshuffle of leading figures.

Well known Patrick Murphy is moving from being head cutter at Huntsman to join Alan Bennett at Davies & Son. There, he will become a director and take a share in the company.

Meantime, Robert Bailey, who had been at Davies, has moved to Huntsman. He is soon to be joined by Campbell Carey, currently at Kilgour. Previous to Kilgour, he had been at Douglas Hayward, and before that at Kilgour. Campbell will become head cutter at Huntsman.

Patrick returns to Davies, where he first trained, before moving to Dege & Skinner, and then Denman & Goddard, before returning to Davies, and then moving to Gieves & Hawkes for a short period. So, in effect, he has now returned home.

Alan Bennett, owner of Davies and one of the Row’s stalwarts, is hoping to take things a little easier and will not be moving anywhere.
